About HAPI - Homeless Animal Partnership
The Homeless Animal Partnership Initiative (HAPI) is dedicated to the overall improvement of the quality of life for animals in Houston and the surrounding area. Its focus is to unite the community into one voice that works to improve adoptions from area shelters, to increase spay and neutering of dogs and cats, work with privately and city owned facilities to improve conditions for all animals. To educate the public on the importance of responsible pet ownership. To become a voice that keeps the city of Houston informed of what the animal rights community wants and needs.
There are so many people who dedicate every spare moment they have to helping the thousands of homeless pets in the Houston area, from rescues to fosters to dog walkers. But this alone is not enough, this alone will not be the action necessary to end euthanization in this city. We must find permanent homes for these animals. HAPI's primary focus will be to find homes for these pets. To provide opportunities for everyone who can provide a home to one of these beautiful creatures a chance to do so. HAPI will begin by working in conjunction with existing adoption events and eventually hopes to hold its own city-wide events that will invite all rescues, shelters, and fosters to come and participate.
So please check back often to get more information on all of our upcoming events, and if you yourself are associated with an adoption event, please contact us. HAPI is always looking for the opportunity to be involved in any adoption event.

Hello and Good day,
my name is Lisa Bendel and im 15 years old. I write to you in the name of my parents which are present as im typing this, but do not speak english since we live in honduras (spanish spoken) so i am writing it for them but in their words. they are aware of what i write. We are in search of donations for our "Save the animals" project which is based on building the very first animal shelter in Honduras. This is a very poor country and animals really suffer. People do not care about the dogs and throw them on the street hoping for them to die when they can not or just dont feel like caring for them anymore. To build this shelter we are in search of donations of any amount since this is a big thing to do. We have started adopting since we are here but we reached our limit snce we can not over crowd our house to be able to provide space and confort for the animals. so far we have 4 dogs, 13 cast and other animals, but we want to do more than this. The shelter will take care fo the most needy and near to death animals and while we expand we will take up more animals and bigger animals like horses. We need all donations we can ger to start this project because sadly we can not pay for this alone, but with your help we can get this done and help these homeless and almost lifeless animals. Please mail me at hondulisa@yahoo.de for more information about this project and some pictures of the unfortunate animals living here so you see that this is worse than in the united states. Also we will work on spaying and castrating the dogs to manage breeding. We will start in this one city La Ceiba but then maybe we will expand to other cities but first we will have to see if the donations are enough for this city. Please mail me and open your heart for these animals. Lawyers and police can be involved and we will send you a copy of the bills we payed so you can see where your money is going. mail me at hondulisa@yahoo.de for all the information!
